Cleaning, conserving, identifying and documenting the Ice Age mammal fossils at Narborough Heritage Centre
At Narborough in Norfolk, local volunteers (above) assisted Nigel in cleaning a couple of hundred Ice Age fossil bones including those of horse, bison, wolf, woolly rhino and lots of Woolly Mammoth - all found in gravel pits nearby. The specimens were then labelled with unique accession numbers and identified. A database was created giving details of all the finds.
